Chef's Table at The English Grill - Throughout The Year
Delight in a true culinary adventure with The English Grill's Chef's Table. The experience can be enjoyed right in the restaurant's kitchen, up close with The Brown Hotel's Executive Chef Laurent Géroli, as he creates masterpieces using the freshest local ingredients. The special seven-course prix fixe menu gives guests an opportunity to dine in the Hotel's main kitchen while engaging Chef Géroli for a lively discussion about ingredients, wine, cooking techniques and the art of making four-star cuisine.
The seven-course Chef's Table, a Louisville tradition known as "the ultimate dining experience," is a gastronomic indulgence complete with wine pairings and is $150 per person plus tax and gratuity. The minimum number of guests to reserve the Chef's Table is 4, and the maximum is 8. As a courtesy, seven-course Chef's Table local guests can request to be picked up or dropped off by the hotel van (available for parties of eight).

Sunday Classical Hour with Ms. Nada Loutfi - Grand Lobby
Join us each Sunday from 4:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m. as Ms. Nada Loutfi plays the music of the greatest piano composers in the Grand Lobby of The Brown Hotel. Ms. Loutfi is a native of Beirut, Lebanon, and a heralded pianist in her homeland. She is the founder of the Purely Piano series and has been a featured soloist of The Louisville Orchestra's MasterWorks Series and plays internationally.
Sunday Tea in The Grand Lobby - Beginning Sunday, February 28, 2010
Beginning Sunday, February 28, and available every Sunday, a special prix fixe tea menu will be presented to accompany the Sunday Classical Hour featuring Ms. Nada Loutfi. The Brown Hotel Executive Chef Laurent Géroli has created a delicious tea menu featuring a large selection of gourmet tartlets, scones, finger sandwiches and fine tea served in the Grand Lobby. The cost is $15 per person plus 6% sales tax and 20% gratuity. The Sunday Tea seating is at 3:30pm. “A Salute to Women, Wine And Whiskey” Celebrating Women’s History Month
An All-Star Team of Culinary Women Join Chef Laurent Géroli to Raise Money for a Sullivan University Scholarship
Take a group of extraordinary women in the culinary industry, add the finest cocktails, wine and cuisine they can cook up, put it all together in The Brown Hotel’s Crystal Ballroom, and you have “A Salute to Women, Wine and Whiskey.” This five-course dinner hosted by Brown Hotel executive chef Laurent Géroli is $125 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity) and takes place on Friday, March 26. A portion of proceeds will benefit students at Sullivan University’s National Center for Hospitality Studies (NCHS).
For reservations, please call 502-583-1234 ext. 7108. Guests of the event also have the option of booking a deluxe room at The Brown Hotel for $109, plus tax. Club floor upgrades are available at an additional charge of $30.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception featuring hors d’ oeuvres prepared by students and faculty from the NCHS and Julep’s Catering along with a special bourbon cocktail inspired by mixologist Joy Perrine from Jack’s Lounge along with wines from Susie Selby of Selby Winery in Sonoma County, Calif.
An all -star cast of chefs will join chef Géroli at 7 p.m. for the main event including Louisville’s own Lilly’s chef/owner Kathy Cary and Chicago chefs Gale Gand who is the pastry chef and partner of Tru, and Susan Goss who is the chef and co-owner of West Town Tavern. Award-winning farmstead cheese maker Judy Schad will provide cheese from Capriole Farms. The dinner will include wine pairings from Selby Winery.
Gand is a James Beard award-winning chef and has written seven cookbooks including “Butter, Flour and Eggs.” Goss is the chef/co-owner of West Town Tavern, one of Chicago’s most popular restaurants. Her contemporary comfort food gets rave reviews, both on a local and national level. She is a board member of the Greater Chicago Food Depository and her annual Girl Food Dinner has contributed over $150, 000 to hunger relief organizations in Chicago. Cary’s Kentucky cuisine has received attention from such publications as The New York Times and Food & Wine magazine.
A portion of the proceeds raised by the dinner will be matched by Sullivan University to create a scholarship for a female student to attend the school’s National Center for Hospitality Studies (NCHS).

5th Annual Chocolate Dreams: An Evening of Decadent Bliss - Monday, February 22, 2010
Louisville's premier chocolate sampling event, the evening draws approximately 450 attendees each year. The 5th Annual Chocolate Dreams event will benefit GuardiaCare Services, Inc, a non-profit agency serving seniors in the Louisville Community for forty years.
Chef Laurent Géroli will join with other culinary professionals to dream up their best creations for Chocolate Dreams. This unique chocolate dessert competition will feature categories of competition including People's Choice, Chocolate Absurdity, Chocolate World Traveler and Chocolate Bluegrass.
Tickets are $50 each or $90 per couple. All funds raised will support ongoing programming for GuardiaCare in their fiduciary, guardianship, adult day health, and caregiver educational services.

The Early Lovebird Dinner is planned for Saturday, February 13 with seating from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. This sensational 3-course prix fixe menu offers a selection of appetizer and entrée, followed by a dessert duo of chocolate mousse and wild berry mousse accompanied by a complimentary glass of Gloria Ferrer Brut Royal. The cost is $60 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
The Love of Your Life Dinner is planned forSatruday, February 13 with seating from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Sunday, February 14 with seating from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. This romantic 5 course prix fixe menu offers a selection of soup including lobster bisque, salad including duck confit, and itermezzo of dragon fruit love potion, entrée including beef filet mignon, and a dessert duo of chocolate mousse and wild berry mouse accompanied by a glass of Perrier Jouët Champagne. The Brown Hotel announces a special J. Vidal-Fleury Wine Dinner at 7:00 p.m. on Thursay, February 11, 2010. The guest speaker will be Guy Sarton dy Jonchay, Managing Director and Winemaker of J. Vidal-Fleury winery located in the Rhone Valley region of France.
With an extensive background in international winemaking, Guy brigns a wealth of knowledge to share during the dinner. J. Vidal-Fleury wines selected for parining with the dinner are Côte du Rhône Blanc 2008, Côte du Rhône Pigeonnier 2007, Crozes-Hermitage 2006, Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2006, and Muscat Beaumes de Venise 2007.
The 5-Course dinner will be created by The Brown Hotel Executive Chef Laurent Géroli and his four-diamond culinary staff.
